Frequently Asked Questions

A typical Morency Rest weighs 5 to 7 pounds. The boxes needed to ship our products are 30 or 36 inches long, 12 inches wide and 3 or 6 inches in height. This dimensional or volumetric weight makes for difficult to estimate shipping costs by USPS or UPS. Shipping costs are estimated to the best of our ability to get you the best price within these parameters. We have mimicked the UPS zones to get you the best price possible in your area.

If you would like an accurate shipping cost, you may send us a memo with the product you would like to order and a shipping address and we can include an accurate shipping cost.

Shipping more than one item in a box does not cost significantly more than one item, therefore if you are ordering more than one item, please contact us for an accurate shipping cost.

Morency Computer Rests come in three standard sizes. Our descriptive part numbers approximate product dimensions. For example, a 1230CM is 12 inches deep and 30 inches wide.

Our 1224C and 1230CM models fit about 95% of the average sized population. Shoulder width is between 16 and 26 inches. Weight ranges from about 100 to 225 lb.

Our 1024C and 1030CM models fit small framed people with narrow shoulders and bodies. Shoulder width less than 18 inches. Weight is typically less than 100 lb.

Our 1230C models fit large framed people with very wide shoulders and bodies. Shoulder width exceeds 26 inches. Weight usually exceeds 225 lb.

We previously sold rests and clamps separately but found less than 3% of our rests were ordered without clamps. If the rest is adequately supported underneath to the ends of the rest it can be used without attachment. Most people find that the rest is more stable when clamped to the work surface. The inclusion of a clamp with our rest products is intended to simplify your purchase. Rests can be purchased without a clamp upon request. If lost, replacement clamps and parts can be purchased.

Yes! All of our products may be ordered in heavy duty, black, Anti-static (ESD) vinyl. Cleanroom products are constructed with polyurethane base materials for the rest and clamp, and stainless steel hardware. The customer is responsible for grounding these products according to their specific requirements. You can review our Product Materials on the DOCUMENTATION page. Certain ESD or CR items may take up to 2 weeks to fabricate and ship. Contact us to discuss your specific requirements.
The most important thing to remember when setting up your workstation is to focus on comfort. Fit the workflow to your body instead of forcing yourself to fit it. Corner workstation setups work best for computer use because of the reduced reach distances that can be incorporated. You can find Workstation Setup Instructions on our DOCUMENTATION page.

The Curved Morency Forearm Rest was designed to work with Microsoft Natural Keyboards. Microsoft has a wide variety of natural ergonomic keyboards. Our CM-MS rests will work with all of them but the contour may not be an exact fit. This will in no way decrease the effectiveness of the product. If you want an exact fit you can send us an outline of your specific keyboard and we can make a custom rest for you. The outline of your keyboard should contain the location of the “B” and “N” keys to accurately fabricate a custom rest. The cost is $80 additional for this service. Custom products cannot be returned for a refund. Contact us to discuss specifics.

Rests can be custom made to fit specific keyboards for $80 in addition to the standard product price. If you want an exact fit you can send us an outline of your specific keyboard. The outline should contain the location of the “B” and “N” keys to accurately fabricate the custom rest. Made to order products typically take an additional 2 weeks to fabricate and ship and cannot be returned for a refund. Contact us to discuss specifics.

Our products were initially developed to allow injured individuals to return to work. We worked extensively with doctors and therapists to solve application issues and allow people who have been injured to return to work. Our testimonials dramatically support this fact.

The three bar knit fabric that we use wears very well. It was developed to wick away moisture, minimizing effects of hot and humid environments. It can easily be cleaned with upholstery cleaner. See our Cleaning Instructions on our DOCUMENTATION page for additional information.
